For the Fall Challenge Change catergory, I made a graphic and then didn't know what to do with it. Is a header waiting for some extra work? An icon looking to be downsized? I played with it for awhile and never really figured it out, so I didn't submit it. I think the sentiment is cool though and worth checking out. And I'd love suggestions for what I can do with it.
ETA- I made an icon after all (though the people look a bit blurry). Feel free to have it if you want it:

A fic rec: If you Needed Me by Myrna, told in four parts. It starts after S2 before Ethan cheats, but is a total BJ story where Justin gets sick. I got this from retread, so some of y'all may have read it before. It made me laugh a ton and cry a little and is just a wonderful must-read.

After learning about gay people not having the right to marry, my oldest (age 9) decided to not say the Pledge of Allegiance at school anymore, since "Justice for all" wasn't actually true. This decision was made on his own. Isn't he the cutest?!! Last year his teacher was cool with it. This year, his new teacher and principal told him he had to say it, so he's been standing with his hand over his heart with his lips sealed. While I do live in the South, I have to believe that he simply misunderstood his teacher since there is no way in hell that the school can make him say the Pledge of Allegiance. When I first heard about this, in my mind I started screaming, "ACLU, where are you??" Ha.
I wrote a really nice email to his teacher, so I hope this matter can be put to rest.
ETA- I heard back from his teacher. She did tell my kid that he has to stand during the Pledge of Allegiance because it is followed by the school creed and vision & mission statements. I have to admit this makes me unhappy. |

Happy Birthday to the lovely ladies: kari77, qafmaniac, and suze_y. I hope your year is as sparkly and fun as you are!
I love BJ! Any time, any place: 
I signed up to make graphics for the FALL CONTEST, which is the first time I've ever signed up for anything. It's been great because I've been playing with PS for the first time in ages. But I am also a little worried that I will try too hard to be "complex" and might not finish instead of something simpler and finishable. (I did make a couple of quickie icons, so I have something to submit, but they aren't what I've been excited to work on though.)
I've been reading post 513-fic this last week or two while trying to get over a really bad cold. (Yay for fanfic saving me from bad daytime tv.) I've never left someone I've loved to pursue my life and dreams, like Justin did. I feel sort of... like maybe I should have, heh. Like maybe it is a part of growing up or something. I fell in love and got married, and though I had graduated from college, I had no notion or desire to have a career anymore. I apparently chose well and lucked out as my marriage has been great. But at the same time I sort of feel like I haven't suffered enough, risked enough, faced fears enough for my lot in life. (Which is totally stupid, I know.) Have any of you left someone to pursue education or career goals? |

pfodge mentioned her "Mickey" pet peeve earlier which prompted me to share two of mine. Of course they are minor things, as all pet peeves are, but are so annoying.
1. Using the / incorrectly. It does not mean "and." / implies romantic or sexual relationship. Labeling a story "Brian/Ted" should not lead to a mere friendship fic.
2. Using the term "AU" incorrectly. This might be open to interpretation. AU, to me, is when Brian and Justin are space cowboys, women, Roman soldiers, or even just auto mechanics. I take the term almost literally, alternate universe. As in the story doesn't revolve around canon, (the sun), besides names and sexual orientation. AU does not mean "fic takes off from 201 and goes in its own direction." The phrase "AU after 201" is acceptable though since the author's intent is clear. Seriously, if the fic is based anywhere after the opening scenes of 101, it shouldn't be labeled AU. Maybe AP (Alternate Planet, ha. Totally just kidding about the new label).
Do you have any annoying pet peeves and if so, how do you deal with them? |

I heard a song on the radio yesterday that is perfect for Brian and Justin and I wanted to share it with you all. Except now I can't remember the name. It's an older song, from the late 70s, early 80s and sounds like Boston/Foreigner/Journey (REO SPeedwagon, Chicago, Air Supply, etc. I've even looked up various love song compilations and still can't find it. Woe). It's about a man leaving his lover on a train to try for success but he gets his courage and strength from his lover. He also wants to be a success for his lover. They are still in love and I don't think the separation will permanent. Totally post-513 Brian and Justin, right? It would be great inspiration for graphics, if only I could remember the name!! It's a song you've probably heard and know the lyrics to. I sang along while the song was on the radio, but since coming home, I haven't been able to remember a long-enough phrase to Google successfully (apparently "I love you" and "leaving on a train" are too common, lol). Does this sounds familiar to anyone?

Watching a super quick marathon including the BJ sex scenes (ok, ok, it was the sex clip vid, hee), I noticed that S4 and on that Justin is on top some (chair sex, post-cancer sex, and post-Hollywood sex), which he'd never done before, except for his topping moment in S2. What do you think this signifies? Think it was meant to show that Justin is becoming Brian's equal? Just wondering. |

Awhile ago, jule1122 asked for some bunnies so I listed several from which she could choose one: Deja vu, new adventure, a dream is fulfilled, a dream is let go, the past comes back to haunt, the future is here, the present is a gift- take your time.
