Here's the cap I got from a torrent with a bit of cleaning up I got it a bit lighter, but the resolution is still terrible (I did a little blurring, but no sharpening) which just goes to show what a genius youbetterwiseup is!
Thanks for trying!
In general, do you think the torrents give off better quality screencaps? I mean torrents from the aired Showtime eps, not just downloads from the internet. If not, at least I don't have to keep dreaming for something that can't be.
I haven't got access to the discs or Showtime eps, just the internet downloads. QAF caps generally are difficult to work with though - except for the few HQ photos - so dark and usually very blue :(
except for the few HQ photosDon't you wish we could have that quality on every single cap. ;-) This is from that scene, but it's not exactly what you're looking for... from ibedesign.
Hee, look at Justin's face.
Wow, it seems really random for that picture to be one of the HQ ones. Maybe I can use the clone tool on the leather jacket from this pic to make the leather jacket on the other picture look better. That's probably trying too hard though, heh. I love this cap just the same, thanks! Maybe I will do something with it.
In the ibedesign folder I have on my hard drive, there are many pictures of Brian and Michael, and lots of promo shots too.
It's so frustrating for the amateur-icon maker. I guess this is where the men are separated from the boys.
This is the best I could do: It doesn't matter if you use the DVD's or mpeg and avi files, you will NEVER get a great cap out of this moment of that scene because it simply is too dark...like lots of others QAF scenes. :(
we're all trying to cap the damn scene, hehe!
LOL!!
Yeah...capping that DAMN scene is a real challenge. ;D
*goes back to upload some tiny pics*
Ha! I tried to cap and work with it for awhile, and then gave up. And then tried again and gave up again. I finally decided to post and ask about it, but decided to try one more time, just in case I had missed some easy step. I couldn't stop trying. It's a disease!
It's a hard scene to cap, because as much as they're not moving that much, the cameraman seems to follow Michael running up to them. So Brian and Justin are kind of out of focus in the background.
If I hadn't seen the original icon, I would think it was just an impossible scene to work with. I guess the general consensus is that youbetterwiseup just worked some mojo magic on the cap?
youbetterwiseup just worked some mojo magic on the cap?
Sure she did!She had a magic wand called Photoshop. ;)
I appreciate you trying. I guess part of the problem is that the characters are in motion, walking down the stairs, not just standing there.
Yep,that and the moving/spinning light makes the scene totally blurry.
I gave it a try, just because...it's not like I know how to make icons, LOL. The scene is more blurry than dark, imo.
Hey,that last pic is a good one... ;)
I don't know what you did, but those look much better, especially the leather jacket, which I seem to be obsessed with.
Gotta love Brian's leather jackets and coats!!
That jacket is gorgeous. The contents ain't bad either ;)
Did you noticed the light on the left side and the pink...um,stripe thingy on Justin in the original icon ? Well, there's definitely a light texture on it!!!
Yes there's at least one light texture (a swirly one I think) on the original icon, but I can't get near the sharpness youbetterwiseup gets.
I did see that, it's one of those radiant light textures. And even assuming there was lighting effect on the wall and light in the left upper corner (see how they are practically the same color?), Brian looks really sharp.
You guys have convinced me that me and this cap aren't meant to be. I'll find one of the HQ pics to work with.
I'm going to put a small tutorial over at graphics_r_us for a version of this icon I just did. I think it turned out pretty well in just a few small steps. :-) |
